Energy Saving Tips

Use programmable thermostats.

Change out all your incadescent bulbs to flourescent.

Teach your family to turn off any lights when they leave a room or when they're not in use.

Use motion sensors and/or photocells with outdoor lighting.

Use low voltage lamps for accent lighting and in kitchens.

Change all lighting fixture ballists to energy efficient ballists.

Install task lighting, such as over the kitchen sink or bar, to reduce the need for ambient lighting over large areas and reduce your energy use.

Eliminate all extension cords

Change your smoke detector batteries annually

Test your GFI receptacles monthly

Don't unlug devices by their cords; use the plug-ins.

On all exposed weather proof recepticles, use a certified in-use cover

Make sure all unused openings of breaker panel are plugged.

Only buy electrical products that have the Underwriters Laboratories (UL) trademark on their labels.

If you lights flicker or you lose power frequently, contact an electrician.

When in doubt, do not attempt electrical wiring; call a licensed professional.
